I’m Ayaka, a product designer bringing clear communication through design and words

I specialize in designing B2C products for people from diverse cultural backgrounds. My own multicultural background gives me a strong sensitivity to context, both in how I design for users and how I collaborate with international teams.

My work blends product design with content thinking. I treat language, information hierarchy, and interaction as one system, creating experiences that feel clear, intuitive, and effortless to use.

I approach design with openness and genuine curiosity. I ask questions, listen carefully, and stay receptive to perspectives that differ from my own. Curiosity helps me uncover what truly matters beneath the surface and guides me toward thoughtful, human-centered decisions.

Try and learn new things

I actively seek new challenges to push myself. By experimenting, learning through doing, and staying sensitive to change, I continue to grow both as a designer and as a person. Expanding my skills and perspective allows me to adapt and contribute more meaningfully to each project.

Progress is rarely linear. There are moments of uncertainty, discomfort, and failure. I see them as essential parts of growth. By trusting the process and staying reflective, I use each experience as an opportunity to evolve and move closer to a better version of myself.

Born and raised in Japan, growing up in the countryside surrounded by the ocean and nature.

Studied business administration at a college in Los Angeles, building a foundation in business thinking, and communication in a multicultural environment.

🇦🇺

Worked in customer support at a European company and in administration at an Australian company in Sydney.
Alongside this, I worked as a freelance content writer, which sparked my interest in how websites are built and designed.

🇨🇦

Studied Web Development & Interactive Design in Vancouver and began my design career as a Graphic & Web Designer, working across both print and digital. Working on print materials with strict layout and spacing constraints helped me develop strong fundamentals in visual balance, hierarchy, and precision.

🇸🇪

Worked as a UI/UX designer on B2C products within an international team in Stockholm.
